New Moon in Taurus
The new moon in Taurus is taking place on April 22 at 10:26PM EST. Coincidentally (or not), this is also Earth Day. Taurus being the first earth sign of the zodiac reminds us to slow down and appreciate all of the beauty that is around us.
We celebrate this beauty by planting our feet deeply into the earth, reminding us that we are made of earth. Taking time to enjoy the finer things in life like nourishing and tasty foods and adoring ourselves in fabric that brings us closer to the divine feminine energy. Taurus is one of the two signs ruled by Venus, so of course love, abundance and creation is also a theme.
The sun and moon will both be conjunct to the North node and Uranus at the time of this shift, supporting change that we are looking to make, connected to our future in order to secure our destiny. At the time of this shift the North node and Venus will both be sitting in the 7th house, which is naturally ruled by Libra and is connected to our relationships and partnerships - this includes business as well! Venus is currently in Gemini so anything we are thinking, communicating to ourselves or to others, will be received right back into our reality. We can expect positive changes to occur within our relationships/partnerships because of this shift.
We will be challenged however, to think way outside of the box and step out of our comfort zone completely and try something new. Jupiter and Pluto are both square to the moon, sun and Mercury, which will influence this behaviour. Saturn is also square to the sun and moon at this time and is reminding us that the traditional ways of doing things is not always best. Challenge yourself to reflect on ways you can create a new reality for yourself, in a way you haven’t before. Your power lies within you and the fact that you can change at any time; not within the status quo you may have been following.
With Mercury still in fiery and driven Aries sitting in the 4th house, we are being given the chance to manifest security and create it for ourselves in a way that makes sense to our ego and higher self. The ego is not something to see as a negative, as it is the drive of the ego that allows us to soar forward. However if the ego is triggered and we are feeling insecure, we start to open up old wounds. What parts of your life are you looking to have more security in? Whatever it is, you can set the intentions of planting it during this new moon. Mercury will be sextile to Venus and Mars at the time of the new moon, which allows us to move forward with our intentions with confidence. This confidence will become a ripple affect and return to us through gifts of abundance from the universe.
Chiron who is in Aries is starting to release the tension of needing to do shadow work. We are now in the stage where we are receiving the benefits of the work we have completed. This work will be rewarded during this shift in all themes to do with our divine masculine energy as Chiron is sextile to Saturn. Saturn will be sitting in the 2nd house naturally ruled by Taurus. Instead of trying to have a grip on things and take over, we will be feeling so secure in ourselves that we won’t feel the need to work overtime. We will actually be doing the opposite: slowing down and saying yes to more things.
Venus will be trine to Mars, to further support the positive change but will be challenging us to understand our reality more and ask why we are attracted to the things that we are receiving now. Our reality is a reflection of us and with Venus in Gemini this a theme now more than ever. Venus will be square to Neptune which may have us thinking a little unrealistic with the intentions we set. To overcome this we can ask ourselves: is this serving my higher self? What will this teach me about my subconscious? How can I bring this theme to the surface now in a way that supports my future?
Overall this new moon in Taurus is going to be reminding the collective to return to nature and our instincts. The ones we were first born with when we arrived. Reminding us that we can be secure in every moment of life including the tough ones. All we need to do is keep ourselves grounded and remember our humble beginning.
