As we sit under the Aquarius new moon, there is possibility and excitement budding in the air. The Aquarius moon may have taken place officially at 12:46am est today, but we are still soaking up all of its electricity. Today marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. The witches know this day as Imbolc, a time of celebrating the work and rebirth that is on the horizon. Under this dark moon, we are rebirthing ourselves as our truest, purest, most authentic selves. The darkness that comes with winter can make the path ahead feel dark, and gloomy. Sometimes we are unable to see ourselves when we walk this dark path, and become disconnected with ourselves. This new moon, in conjunction to Saturn reminds us that there is security and stability in being our true selves. There is space for our story and our experiences, we don’t have to bend into anything that we are not. This moon calls for releasing old ideas of ourselves and returning to our truth.
As the sun beams more and more each day, our confidence and growth does the same. The intentions we set under this moon, can take many forms and phases over these next 6 months. With the full moon in Aquarius taking place on August 11th, we are given a blank page to do whatever we want. Uranus in Taurus connects with Mars and Venus in Capricorn, supporting our efforts and desires for change in how we see wealth, our worth in our work, and our worth within community.

You will need:
A candle
A glass of water
Fire safe bowl
Paper/parchment paper
Bayleaves
3 coins
A crossroads
Permanent marker
Selenite wand
Offering of your choice that reflects new budding life and abundance (we suggest pomegranate!)
At your altar/sacred space, light your candle and ground yourself in a comfortable position.
Allow yourself to become soft and sink deeper into your root. Hold your selenite wand in your hand(s), as you Inhale through your nose, exhale through your mouth. Continue this until you feel grounded in your breath and one with your heartbeat.
Reflect on what items that you are currently working through, that feel heavy or more like your shadow self. Reflect on how you feel about your progress and keep these in mind when coming up with your intentions.
On a piece of paper, write down the items that feel heavy that you are looking to release. On the bayleaves, write down the elements of yourself that you are continuing to ground yourself in and elevate.
Carefully light the paper and allow it to burn in your bowl/cauldron. Speak your intentions and keep your eyes on the flame! Envision the heaviness burning away into ash. Put these ashes to the side.
Light the bayleaves with your intentions of growth and elevation, and allow these ashes to fully burn in your bowl/cauldron.
Under the dark moon and night sky, go to a crossroads with your 3 coins and throw away the ashes that carry your release. Leave the coins for the spirits of the crossroads and don’t look back! Remember to give thanks as they carry on your message.
Return back to the space of abundance/growth (your home property perhaps) and bury the ashes of the bayleaves deep into the earth. Leave your offering of abundance/pomegranate on top, to be left for Spirit.
When you return indoors, complete a spiritual bath.
